Weight Loss at Home

Weight loss at home does not only contain exercise equipments and diet. It also involves you, your family and your motivation. At the start of any exercise and diet program, everything is light. Changes only happen as time pass by, you find that keeping up with the exercise routine is hard, or simply sticking with the diet is an effort. Then weight loss becomes a battle or war for some.

This is when you would need reinforcements. When you are at home reinforcement could come very rare. Unlike if you are in a gym, there are trainers and fellow weight losers who would help you fuse to your program. They have support groups that can do the monitoring and the motivation for you. But then at home, you have the best reinforcements – your family.

Weight loss at home is tough if you let it. Maybe you feel that your family is not supportive enough of your weight loss goal. But there are also times that they really do not know how to help you. Sometimes, all you need to do is ask. Here are just some things that you can negotiate with the family.

  1. The time. When it is your time to take a brisk walk or run, then you may put someone in the family in charge. Make sure that everything they would possibly in 1 to 2 hours is ready. This is both if you are going out or just using your home exercise machine.
  2. The chores. One of the best enticements for your family to help you, is to do some chores anyone in the family avoids. But be aware that this may include some dirty chore or strenuous ones like mowing the lawn.
  3. The diet. This can be very hard on the family. The best way is for them to understand that you cannot join them for your family meal, because if you do, you would only entice yourself with their food. You can try creating other family time other than eating, so that you can still spend time with them without food in mind.
  4. The journal. Although, some would prefer a personal journal, there are some that would like to involve the family with keeping track of your progress. Besides, they help you with it; they deserve some of that happiness.

It is always important to have a strong support when you are serious on losing weight. And your family can be the most intense help you can get.
