Body Weight and Related Health Issues

Since the 21st century forced a health-killing lifestyle upon the people, more and more are having serious health problems caused by excessive body weight and obesity is becoming more and more frequent. This is caused usually by the lack of time of people: since more and more have very demanding jobs, and since we live in a period when there is a financial crisis, many are working around the clock just to have a decent living. This can really affect the way we eat. Fast foods and other junk foods are not really healthy, and also having our daily meals while driving, working or performing other daily activities can also affect our digesting system which leads to weight problems. Even though this is a real problem, people are not taking it into consideration, thus more and more cases of cardiovascular problems, breathing problems and diabetes are recorded. Another stunning statistic is that more than 300 000 people die every year from diseases caused by weight problems.


One step to prevent obesity is a nutrition diet. Many are surprised by the fact that a healthy diet consist from 3 to 5 meals a day. Yes, this is true. The day’s first meal, the breakfast is the most important one, which must not be jumped over. If you have a breakfast like a king, your body will get the necessary energy to start a day. After breakfast you should eat regularly. If you sacrifice 30 minutes from your time in your office, to have a healthy meal, and I must accentuate it, HEALTHY mean, than you will see that it is worth it. It really depends on your daily activities how much you need to eat daily. Basically, the amount of calories you have to take in is the amount which your body needs. If you sit in the office whole day long, you might not need as much as a person who does hard physical work, but there is also another factor: the human body. Not all of us are the same. Another important thing is the dinner: that should be the “poorest” mean of the day. It’s not good if you go to bed with an excessively full stomach.


Usually preventing health problems is the best treatment – everybody agrees in that. This is why it is so important to prevent obesity. Healthy diet is the first step, but many might want to consider exercises also. Preventing obesity is very important. Obesity can cause lots of medical problems. For example those with obesity are more exposed to the risk of getting colon, prostate and kidney disorders, as well as cancers which attack the above mentioned organs. At women post menopausal breast cancer can represent a pretty high risk.


Cardiovascular problems are yet again common amongst obese persons. High blood pressure is something very common amongst people today, which can be caused by stress and weight problems as well. When the two are together it can be a lethal combination. Diabetes is also having more and more victims. It is a very unpleasant and dangerous illness, which can be caused by obesity. Usually those who have diabetes are sentenced for a very strict lifestyle, and a very severe diet. Insulin and medication is something which is a must and constant monitoring is also needed for a secure lifestyle.
